Changelog

New features and improvements in CaseBlink.

Clients now have their own place to follow their case, answer intakes, upload documents and sign.

What clients see

Clients sign in from an invite on their phone or computer. The portal shows their tasks, a timeline of their case, their documents and their profile. If something on their profile is wrong, they send a correction for you to review.

E-signatures

Request a signature from the client profile. The client signs in the portal, and the signed document comes back to their case.

Seven languages

The portal and intakes are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Hindi, French and Arabic.

A fuller client profile

  • Readiness and a status banner at the top of every profile.
  • Passports and education tabs.
  • A review step for autofilled details before they're saved.
  • Duplicate warnings and merge on the clients list.

Skills can now run on their own when a date comes close: an RFE response coming due, a document about to expire, or a priority date coming current.

Written as a sentence

Each automation reads like an instruction: when an RFE or NOID response is coming due within two weeks, plan first and propose changes. Every part of the sentence opens a picker.

Expiration automations choose which documents count and whether dependents are included. Priority date automations choose the Visa Bulletin chart, Final Action or Dates for Filing.

See what it would catch

Before you save, “Would catch today” shows which cases the automation would pick up, which it would skip and why, and about how many runs a month to expect.

Runs wait for you

The skill page lists the runs coming up, and any of them can be skipped. Each case header shows automated runs waiting on the attorney, and every run says why it started and how it ended.

Submitted intakes open in a review table, and sending one back for changes takes a single step.

Review every answer in place

Accept or flag each answer inline, add notes, and see warnings on uploads that look wrong. “View as client” shows the intake the way your client saw it. When a client revises an answer, the table shows what it was and what it is now.

Request changes

Flag the answers that need work and CaseBlink drafts the message to the client from your notes. The client's revision opens on just those answers, with your note and their previous answer beside each one.

Accept and file

Accepting walks through each profile change and document before anything is written to the client's record or the case.

Track what you sent

Every sent intake has a tracking pane: whether the link was opened, progress on each question, and its activity. Remind, extend, revoke or send it again from the same place.

Track time against cases, review it before you bill, and manage employer clients in one place.

Time tracking

Start a timer from anywhere in the app, or log time from the Board, Day and Week views. Every case has its own time pane.

Billing review

Before you bill, review entries with pre-bill flags, then export them. Time and billing settings live together in Settings.

Companies

Employers have their own section, with Overview, Employees, Playbook, Contacts and Billing tabs. Each case shows its company, along with HR approvals and messages.

The HR portal

Company contacts sign in with an email link to see their employees, request a new case and review spend. What each contact can see depends on the access you give them.

A new pane lists every fact a case rests on, where it came from, and anything that needs a second look.

Facts with their sources

Each fact shows its value, the documents behind it and why it was read that way, along with anything still missing. Used By lists every draft and form that relies on it.

Changes to review

When new evidence changes a fact, CaseBlink asks before updating it. The prompt shows what changed, why, and from which document. If the record no longer supports a value, keeping the current one is the default.

Your edits stay yours

Values you set yourself can be reverted. Structured values, like an address or a date range, can be edited one part at a time.

When an agent changes a case, it now shows what else it kept in step and what it left for you.

Changes that carry through

Change cards list what updated on its own, such as citations re-pointed after an exhibit moved or exhibit lists brought back in sync. Undoing a change says what it left as it was.

Follow-ups

When a reply leaves items for later, a Follow-ups list groups them by case. Mark each one “Looks right”, or ask the agent to fix it.

Citations follow their pages

Edit pages in the PDF editor or save a new packet, and the citations in your drafts follow the pages they point to.

Work now opens in tabs, and everything agents need from you is gathered in one place.

Tabs

Cases, clients and drafts open as tabs across the top of the app, grouped by client, in place of the recently viewed list.

What agents need from you

The Agents tray in the sidebar, banners you can snooze, the page title and desktop alerts all read from one list of what's waiting on you. Approvals waiting in a thread are marked where they are.

Notifications

The bell opens one sheet for what's coming up, mentions and activity. Announcements show as a strip across the top, and USCIS receipts move to their own pane beside the case files.

Open the built packet in the PDF editor, change its pages, and save it back.

Edit, then confirm

The packet pane has an Edit PDF action. When you save, CaseBlink lists every change it's about to make for you to confirm, then rebuilds the packet.

Pages know where they came from

The Pages panel labels each page with its exhibit or tab, and tab pages can't be deleted by accident.

How careful should the assistant be?

The model menu is now one slider: Quick, Balanced or Thorough. New threads start on Balanced, and Advanced still lets you choose a specific model.

Attachments in chat

Attach files to a message to an agent. They show as file cards with their type, page count and size, and the agent can save them to the case.

Home opens on what needs your review, and the firm's calendar has a page of its own.

For Review

Home is an inbox of what's overdue, what's waiting on you and what's coming up. Select an item to see its detail and act on it.

With nothing selected, Home shows the day's briefing: what needs you today, what's on the calendar and what's next.

The firm calendar

Month, week, day and agenda views over firm reminders and your synced Google and Outlook calendars.

Teach CaseBlink how your firm does a task once, then run it on any case.

Write a skill

Describe a task in your own words and the skill builder asks what it needs to know. Skills keep their versions: rate a run, and revert to an earlier version from its history.

Run it on any case

Pick a skill from the case. A run collects the skill's questions first, then does the work. Each skill's settings cover its inputs, what it may do, and when it runs on its own.

Connectors

Connect the apps your agents work with from the new Connectors page.

Permissions

Choose which roles can edit the Firm Knowledge library and skills from the Permissions tab in Settings.

Your firm's templates, prior filings and guidance, in one library that agents draft from.

One library

Firm Knowledge collects the templates, prior filings and guidance your agents draft from. It's laid out like the cases list, so entries are easy to find and sort.

PDFs become documents

Add a PDF and CaseBlink makes an editable copy, marked as converted, that opens in the Word editor.

Firm instructions

Instructions for how agents should work now live in Settings, under Agents.
